Her Highness Sheikha Khawla Bint Ahmed Khalifa Al Suwaidi
H.H. Sheikha Khawla Bint Ahmed Khalifa Al Sowaidi the wife of H.H. Sheikh Tahnoon Bin Zayed Al Nahayan, UAE National Security Advisor.
Her Highness grew up in the culture-oriented house and artistic household of her father, H.E. Ahmed Khalifa Al Sowaidi who was the first Minister of Foreign Affairs for the United Arab Emirates, and the founder of the Abu Dhabi Cultural Foundation; the home of the first National Library, and the Theatre and Community Arts Centre in the UAE.
Ever since childhood, Her Highness has possessed an unquestionable thirst for reading, and has absorbed a great deal of literature and poetry, thanks to her father’s influence and the encouragement of her husband, H.H. Sheikh Tahnoon Bin Zayed Al Nahayan.
The passion of literature led her to write her own poetry, which is of a patriotic, nostalgic and philosophical nature. It has led to her first poetry book (Jenan).
Her Highness embarked on the study of Arabic Calligraphy under the supervision of the master Emirati calligrapher, Mohamed Mandi. Her specialism is in Andalusian-Arabic calligraphy, for which she regularly employs the ancient methods of working with papyrus paper.
She launched her first ART gallery (Fatima: Love & Peace) in Abu Dhabi at the Emirates Palace, The gallery was successful due to people’s positive feedback.
Owing to her passion for fine arts, Her Highness has earned diplomas in Photography, Fine Arts, Food & Nutrition, and Interior Design.
In addition, Her Highness Sheikha Khawla Bint Ahmed Khalifa Al Sowaidi has a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration.
